Bayelsa State Combined Cycle Power Plant (Gas Turbine)

Wuta Nigeria has signed MOU's with the Bayelsa State Government for the construction of three (3) combined cycle power plant (Gas Turbine) each plant having net output capacity of 50MW, with total capacity to add 150MW to the grid.

Each plant will be powered by 2 (two) Aviadvigatel OJSC or GE TM2500 which is one of the world's most modular, reliable, and experienced mobile gas turbines with output capacity of 60MW gross and 50MW net

Overview

The combined cycle power plant is intended to operate outmost reliably and capable of: (a) Ensuring a stable operation under different site and ambient conditions, from arctic to tropical; (b) Assuring high availability (more than 8'500 hours per year); (c) Operating efficiently at partial load and at load-following conditions; (d) Allowing frequent start-up and shutdowns of both the gas turbine and the steam turbine.

The scope of the CCPP is to provide an electric power of 60MW with an overall plant efficiency of 49% (ISO conditions). The power plant will consist of two (2) gas turbine generating sets and one HRSG and one (1) steam turbine generating set. The gas turbine operates with natural gas as the main fuel and liquid oil as secondary (back-up) fuel. The plant assures a high availability of more than 8'500 hours per year. The plant also operates efficiently at partial load and at load-following conditions. The layout allows frequent start-up and shutdowns of both the gas turbine and the steam turbine.
